      I'll help carry the rail

    2. Shayne Handy

Booing is the same as cancel culture? Leftists aren't known for being bright and doesn't realize they're supporting the guy that agrees with Mitch most of the time because "orange man bad." Idiots.

    3. RedThunderDan

Of course the one person on the right to intelligently vote against Trump at one of his two impeachment gets booed by a bunch of idiots

    4. Bird Man

      That was close!

    5. Colin Quinn

Colbert is such a freakin weasel

    6. Van A

Taking the shot at Romney? Really? His policies didn't make that. His policies made Massachusetts - which is thriving right now. Taking cheap assed, cowardly shots at the one person who's willing to reach across the aisle is a whole new level of shallow for you.

    7. Max Power

GOP and their supporters make you sympathize with Mitt Romney... Chew on that for a second

    8. Robert Michalscheck

Majority of gop are not intelligent people.

    9. Ada Bellana7

      Mitt Romney 👎👎👎👎 buuuuuuh!

    10. Eugenio Elias

Mitt Romney is one of the few Republicans that deserves to be a Republican the other ones sided with a traitor. Mitt Romney sided with Our Constitution!

    11. Jackie

If I were ever going to vote for a republican Mitt Romney would be the one!

    12. Jenifer R.

Loud, hateful, ignorant... the GOP has finally accepted who they are.

    13. Betty McElwee

      Mitt Romney is awful.

    14. Ziggy3339

I like that Mitt Romney thinks for himself, holds himself with some dignity and can’t be bought. I bet his family is proud of him. Although I don’t agree with all of his perspectives, I’d trust a guy like this over a Ted Cruz any day of the week. Sadly, it appears these people don’t like 👍🏼 his honesty.

    15. Alicia Geesman

Mittens tried to kill his family dog, Shamus. He deserves every “Boo” he gets. Lousy dog hater.

    16. ncwordman

Toe the line, or the Right turns against you. They tolerate no criticism or dissension.

    17. Fauler Perfektionist

I mean _anyone_ who ever _considers_ things ought to recognize that _any_ two people are going to have the occasional disagreement. If they're reasonable, they accept this about each other. If one of them is _unreasonable,_ he seeks to get the other _censored_ and _censured_ for daring to have his own _mind._

    18. V Star

The current Republican Party is the most anti-American collection of incompetent, ass kissing, racist morons in the history of U.S. politics. Romney and Cheney say and believe the things that are in the best interests of the country, not the party. And that’s what pisses off the idiots.

    19. Ted Growney

Colbert is the most unfunny person in the world

    20. Ivan Esce

Relax everyone. Romney is just establishing the general IQ of a crowd. Booing to a comment against Trump: crowd IQ, 80 or below.

    21. Erroneous Monk

      We’re fascists, huh? Nice take.

    22. Betch Face

Of course the religious GOP needs something tangible to believe in... idealism leads to racism which can turn into totalitarianism. With ultimately the oppression of all those who do not agree with the those in power. (Usually the minority)

    23. lexas

The cult doesn't allow even the wimpiest of wimpy criticism in its ranks.

    24. Jerry Henderson

I would be my guess most of the anti-American Republicans booing Romney at their convention are wanted by the FBI.

    25. General Durandal

The ignorant masses, the worthless fools and wicked ones, shall never turn away from Evil, especially after Good let that Evil get away with it's crimes.

    26. Michael Greene

They weren't booing Mitt Romney, they were transferring their hate and disgust towards someone who represents all the MAGAt Repugnant-cons hate about their God/Savior Donald J. Twidledeedump.💩

    27. Patty Kake

Hope you enjoyed the “Boo Fest” Mittens ... what a blow to your enormous ego. 😩

    28. pretends2know

Well, this was not the direction I was expecting the Cars franchise to go.

    35. David Ashton

      Qtardery is rampant in Utah

    36. TheBioExplorer

The GOP has completely volunteered control to the Trump Thuglicans. They could have gotten it back but prayed too long to the Orange Goose Idiot Idol.

    37. Martie MC

“We the people”??? How about “we some of the people”? Or, “We thank God not enough of the people to vote back in that orange clown!”

    38. e schwarz

Wouldn't be surprised if Trump hired various people to boo loudly

    39. Klara Stern

"Your boos mean nothing to me! I've seen what makes you cheer!" Rick

    40. Ygraine

the GoP voters who booed Mitt Romney here probably cheered on the rioters sacking Capitol Hill on Jan 6th and were about to harm the senator in the hallway before one brave police officer directed him the other way

    41. Viro ViranVictus

So are they taking the week off?

    42. IamSkippy Scott Skippy Jessop

_Some think_ Mitt is to Republicans what Joe Manchin is to Democrats *I DISAGREE.* Mitt _occasionally chooses the right_ in difficult circumstances, but he’s not willing to vote *with Democrats on bipartisan bills.* *Manchin on the other hand* voted to impeach Trump and wants bipartisan bills even though he can’t convince Republicans to choose the right. *#BothGuys** talk big and **#occasionally** do what’s best for most Americans* _they are the MEH EMOJIS of politicians_ 😒 #OccasionalHeroes

    43. THAT GUY

Republican party is no longer a party for decent politicians.

    44. pal98111

The GOP needs to evolve or it will die with the old farts running it.

    45. Marc T

There is a true maverick. A man who's honor and dignity come before party loyalty. Now, if only a few more Repubs would wake up and think of the nation

      1. ItsYoBoy Kris Fields

Colbert ratings = Crash and burn. Maybe the one trick Pony should cry more like Kimmel?

      1. Marc T

        Why did you come here?

    49. i-flarnted

Why doesn't Romney just switch parties; he's only interested in his bank account just like Nadler, Schiff, Schumer, and Pelosi.

      1. i-flarnted

@Marc T I did look it up. Minimum wage employees saw no change while middle to upper income employees saw more take home pay and more on their tax returns.

      2. Marc T

@i-flarnted Just because you MAGA trolls type "fact", you think it means something. Look it up yourself. The poverty level has grown under your hero. Stop lying, it diminishes your humanity

      3. i-flarnted

@Marc T The average Joe got more take home pay and more on his tax returns. Look it up, it's a fact.

      4. Marc T

@i-flarnted You cannot name one, can you?

      5. i-flarnted

@Marc T Get back to me when you've had enough of 4 years of Biden, or should I say Harris because I doubt Biden will make it to the end of 2021.

    50. N R

This clip will be available literally forever. Your descendants for a thousand years can say you had the courage to do what's right, Mitt.

The Trump cult is bigger than the Mormon cult.

    54. Raistlin Majere

Mity Romney has more balls then most of Trump's cabinet.

    55. Rebuilt Gearbox

Romney is the same as he's always been, the GOP has just gone wherever it is now.

      1. Valerie J. Norse

        Fascistic Death Cult Land.

    56. Mark Nelson

like trying to run away from an avalanche. Republicans eat their own.

    57. judith villa

Alternate headline : Mormon Senator has a boos problem.

At what point do they decide it isn't their party anymore?

    60. avery neal

The party of cancel cancel culture and family values!

    61. A Real Human

    62. Michelle

Was this held in a high school auditorium? Sure sounds like a bunch of petty 14 year olds....

    63. Hankakah

Instead of being scared of Trump and his followers, they should leave the GOP party and go Independent and run AGAINST the GOP candidate. He's not going to win as a GOP, so might as well run Independent and maybe the Democrats and Independents vote for him if there is no other Democrat running.

    64. horse horse

Yes he is a decent of the better GOP...who fought for his belief..

    65. Petra Roch

      Trump uber alles.

    66. Brett Palmer

I like both sides of this. Mitt did do courageous things in voting to impeach trump twice but it is worth keeping in mind that he did help put us in this situation.

    67. Fred

      The GOP hates Mormons also.

    68. MD4564

stupid gop voters, mitt should goto democrats.

    69. Mark Dowse

What a strange mob the 'Republicans' have become..... And their is NOTHING "grand" about them anymore, I reckon.

    70. Robert Perry

Telling the truth to that crowd is like being at a vampire convention and opening the curtains to the morning sunrise !

      1. ItsYoBoy Kris Fields

Sunlight aaaahhhh *hiss* And any news that compromises Trump is considered Fake AKA Their Garlic

    71. TheRealPaulMarshall

Can Romney and Manchin just trade seats?

    72. Gitanarosa

The only man in the GOP with a pair!

    73. Smart Recovery

Mit is the second witness 2 the Lord. Now its time 2 switch and become a democrate Yahoo Sweet revenge Republicans losers !

    74. Nate Cj Foster

This is scary. The GOP is being taken over by an uneducated, mostly racist mob.

    75. Tom

That's why more republicans don't stand up to Trump...

    76. Justin Tym

Romney showing "integrity" is akin to being the nicest guy in prison. Where was this version of Mitt in the beginning of 2020?

      1. Don Surlylyte

mitt did vote party lines, but he also has been a vocal trump opponent.

      2. Christine VR

Truth! And a very good question. Better late than never I guess, although he has played along party lines to stick around this long. He’s no angel.

    77. karmakazi219

He would have had a much better reception speaking to a crowd of Democrats.

      1. ItsYoBoy Kris Fields

Debatable...they still on the fence with his, but will somewhat respect him.

    78. John Watt

The sign on the wall said "We the people", when they can't even be "We the Republicans".

    79. Ro G

Mitt: "At some point, we need to realize that our party is not a cult." Maga cult: "BURN HIM AT THE STAKE!!" 😡🔥 Mitt: 😳😬

      1. TJ HedgeScout

        @Mindur Ownbiz True

      2. Mindur Ownbiz

@TJ HedgeScout I think MAGA actually stands for Make America Go Away. Only this way their actions make sense. I mean, they tried a coup on Jan 6th, what more proof do you need?

      3. TJ HedgeScout

It's ironic. MAGA stands for "Make America Great Again" Yet die hard Trumpers are doing everything to make America a toxic hellhole...

    80. Nefarias Bredd

'I welcome your booing, I've seen what you people cheer for'

    81. NyJoanzy

Good for Mitt. It ain't wrong for the corrupt to hate you.

    82. WD Harris

      At least he was honest.....

    83. Trey

Karmas a Mittch. Who’s feels bad? No One. HE should be embarrassed for thinking the Traitor Party would welcome him. Fool 🤡

    84. Just Jackie

He's Lucky to have gotten away !! Trump Supporters be Out for Blood Haven't you seen Already

    85. Elaine Primo

For the last four years the media was serving us bitter tea. How they got so nice now serving us Ice cream.dont they know too much ice cream get people Sick. ? Not republician . but they sould stop being push over they let the Dems walk all over them.good for those people .

    87. P4ND4MIND

Ah yes, when the creation no longer fears the creator.

      1. ncwordman

        Well put, and frightening.

    88. Jeff F

The deranged right is all wrong. Go back to school, stupid doesn't look good on you.

    89. Space Force Commander, General Stabled Genius

Although Melania had a “Be Best” campaign (that she really didn’t believe in), Trump was the one who gave his supporters the permission to “Be Worst” (just like himself). You must admit that the Mitt don’t fit in anymore.

    90. Walidah Campbell

If these mob people were still in charge, they would still be burning people at the steak for witchcraft based on lying, twitching teenage girls.

    91. Kate

This is sad. They really are a basket of deplorables.

      1. ItsYoBoy Kris Fields

Should ship em to Cuba. I know plenty of Dems who aren't a fan of Biden and are honest about it, they at least give him respect.

    92. Ralph Boyd

Utah is a Mormon State and Romney is high up there in the Church. I can bet you few of the people booing him were from Utah. Which means someone arranged to have MAGA people drive in from surrounding States.

      1. JiaSwan

@Ralph Boyd No desperation. I admit up front your theory is possible. It really could go either way. I just have a tendency to play devil’s advocate with ideas about people being brought in or coached (I do the same thing to friends who claim school shooting student are coached actors, or others who claim pro-gun rights activists are brought in). I find people like to find an “other” or a larger conspiracy to blame when they should more likely look internal and to run of the mill people. Sometimes people are brought in to protest, but often that is not the case. As I said in my first comment, your hypothesis of external provocateurs is possible, I believe it more likely it was internal. Neither of us can prove it. If you are curious, Romney’s approval ratings among Utah republicans has been dropping like a rock. 60+% of Utah republicans are listed as disapproving of Romney right now (his approval rating is actually higher among state democrats) His fellow senator Mike Lee currently has a 69% approval rating among republicans in the state. That, and I do like to correct misconceptions and misunderstandings around my religion or prominent people in it. LDS can be classified as a voting demographic because there is a prominent bell curve peak on the republican side of the spectrum, but that does not mean opinions are monochrome or that every latter day saint loves every policy and action proposed by a politician who also belongs to the same faith.

      2. Ralph Boyd

@JiaSwan Dude, you're desperately trying to get anyone to believe out of State Activists were not the ones booing Romney. Next time they should check IDs at the door.

      3. JiaSwan

@Ralph Boyd not trying to misrepresent any numbers or anything. Just stating those things I know and observe. I tend to be personally skeptical of conspiracy theories from the right or left (though theories spread by the right are far more concerning and blatantly false of late) and particularly skeptical of the “non-local protestor” theories which so often prove false except in the case of really momentous events (such as the mob of terrorists on Jan 6th). Both right and left often blame vocal protests on people outside the “community.” It allows them to criticize the protest without criticizing the community. Neither one of us has proof of the origin of these booers. My own personal experience of friends and associations in Utah means I know that the SLC Olympics are far from memory (anyone now 30 would only have been 11 then) and that there are many that curse him and call him traitor for “betraying” Trump. There are also those that are thrilled with his courage and praise him for standing up to Trump. As I said, it runs the spectrum but very few I have heard of regard him as an irrefutable fount of spiritual wisdom. We though do seem to be at an impasse and I fear we will both start repeating ourselves if the discussion goes on. I wish you a happy day and thank you for a very pleasant and intelligent exchange of perspectives in a USfilm comment section (a rare delight I always enjoy).

      4. Ralph Boyd

@JiaSwan You are way undercounting LDS membership to try and disuade from the point these were out of State provocateurs. The point stands that Utah Mormons would never "Boo" Romney the savior of the Salt Lake Olympics. It would be like Booing their own Church.

      5. JiaSwan

@Ralph Boyd renegade? No, just members being vocally impolite with differing opinions. As a stake president, at most Romney would have been loosely in charge of about 3000 saints (upper end). The way the church is organized, about 100-250 people make up a ward (smaller than that and it is called a branch. Branches can be as small as 20 people), these are the smallest groups and either branch or ward can be known as a “unit”. Wards are presided over by a bishop and branches by a branch president. A “stake” is a local grouping of generally 6 to 15 units (some combination of branches and wards depending on the area) presided over by a stake president. It is unusual to have a stake of more than 10 full-fledged wards, but if you assume that you have 15 units of 200 people, at most that is 3000. It is also very loose leadership as well. The stake leadership operates more on suggestion than edict. Stake positions largely act as an intermediary communication between apostles and 70s to the units (wards and branches) I believe you may be mixing up stake president with an area 70. Area 70 is responsible for coordinating all of the stakes in a given area, for example the Utah area 70 is responsible for all stakes in Utah. The Northeast North America area 70 is responsible for Maine down to Maryland and as far west as Michigan. This pattern repeats around the world with the geographical areas being set by the population density of the latter day saints in the given area.

    93. Maudie Mahoney

Aholes ,my god usa has become a joke ,no respect for mitt ,because he's a man that stands for truth and integrity ,ppl are vicious and down right evil, what only God knows how they are raising there spawns

    94. kathy harris

Mitt needs to leave the nazi party.

    95. John Doe

These so called Republicans want a 4th Reich under TreasonousTrump.

    96. mkcinc23

Romney comes across like he was the one that was suppose to be president. He looks sad dissing Trump. He needs to sit down and be quiet.

      1. John Watt

@mkcinc23: Your comment is difficult to understand. You say "American voted against him". That could be the Republican Party voting against Mitt Romney and making Past President Trump their presidential candidate, or it could mean that Americans voted out Past President Trump. Either way, Past President Trump didn't act presidential, he was always making it about him. Just think, if all Past President Trump did was take acting lessons to act presidential, he would probably still be president.

      2. Valerie J. Norse

@mkcinc23 -- So, because Romney lost a presidential race, he should never say what he thinks is right? I'm guessing you never even ran for president, why aren't you urging yourself to sit down and be quiet?

      3. mkcinc23

@John Watt what does that matter ? American voted against him.

      4. John Watt

Mitt Romney certainly came off as more presidential than Past President Trump ever was.

    97. Tyg Rahof

      One of the saner ones.

    98. Lois Mayette

GOP SHOULD GIVE MITT Astand ovation, believe. They will live to regret this booing

    99. Jinandwin L

"Your boos mean nothing to me, I saw what you cheered for on January 6th."

      1. Erroneous Monk

@RedThunderDan Wow, okay. So a lady said something the morning of the rally… before anything had happened. Okay. And some guy you don’t know raised a fist? I don’t know man, you’re coming off as kind of a kook. As for Ted Cruz snoozing during the impeachment trial, I hadn’t heard about that. But yes, that’s really terrible for a sitting senator to not take seriously Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler and… bwah hahah…. No, no, I just can’t keep a straight face. OF COURSE, he didn’t give a crap about your 157th impeachment hoax. None of us did. When the radio news started giving updates or cutting to so-and-so droning on for hours about BS I turned them off. I had that luxury. Ted Cruz didn’t. And you know what, if what you say is true I love him even more. See, you idiots think we actually share ANY opinions with you on ANYTHING and we don’t. We just don’t. We are at an irreconcilable place in America and that’s all there is to it.

      2. RedThunderDan

@Erroneous Monk there was literally one republican (i forget his name but I'm sure I can find it if you insist) who held up his fist in support of the rioters when the insurection began. He was some young guy. There was also that crazy gun lady who tweeted "today is 1776" the morning of the riots. Then there were morons like Ted Cruz who were so unconcerned at Trumps SECOND impeachment he basically fell asleep...

      3. RedThunderDan

@Erroneous Monk except of course Trump who stayed quiet for hours after he riled up that same crowd right before they did it. He was probably doing another "bunker inspection" at the time

      4. ItsYoBoy Kris Fields

@Erroneous Monk oh really, then explain why Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley were literally raising funds while it was happening. Quit being party biased and be honest otherwise exit stage left please ya time is up. And before you think nobodies calling both sides. I'm pretty sure they are, and everyone agrees the summer riots were wrong. But at the very least they had moral compass to back them up. Conservatives had BS Lie Election Fraud Lies, one man's obsessed self-serving ego, and a selfishness that could rival the likes of the USSR.

      5. Erroneous Monk

@Ida Larsen Some did, many didn’t choose to call out the rioting last year (and some is still going on now). Why are you holding only one side accountable? I don’t know how you can suggest senators were “cheering on” a couple hundred idiots who went into the capitol building. Hawley and Cruz opposed the electors votes, which is a legal procedure. Are you suggesting they were being unlawful in following the law?

    100. Christopher Reynolds

Should I feel bad for routing for the virus vs Republicans? Well I don't!! STUPIDITY comes with a price!!!
